Reading a WNBA draft clue

A’ja Wilson’s WNBA profile records her draft year as 2018. In an illustrative comparison against an imagined 2015-drafted target, her draft tile would be gray with ↓: the target was drafted earlier, and the three-year gap is outside the two-year orange range. A 2018 target would match that clue exactly, but the other five clues could still differ. This is a teaching example, not a puzzle solution.

Which clues does WNBA Wordle compare?

Each accepted guess compares team in the published roster snapshot, position, nation, height in feet and inches, age and WNBA draft year. A later transfer does not automatically change a published puzzle. UD means the official profile identifies the player as undrafted.

How do the colors and arrows work?

Green means exact. Orange means a shared position family, height within 2 inches, or age or draft year within 2 years. Gray means no match. ↑ points to a higher target value; ↓ points to a lower one. For draft year, a higher number means a later draft. UD is not compared as a numeric year.

How are Daily and Unlimited different?

Select the mode above the player search. Daily gives everyone the same UTC-dated WNBA target, resets at midnight UTC and records a streak. Unlimited creates additional practice targets without changing the saved Daily result; choose Next player after finishing a practice round.

How are WNBA player facts kept consistent?

Each published puzzle uses one dated roster snapshot. Team and nation come from official league profiles, age is calculated for the puzzle date, and incomplete records are excluded. The snapshot date above describes the game data, not a continuously updated roster.
