DAILY NBA GRID GAME
Match team, award, draft and career-stat clues with verified players from NBA history. Everyone receives the same board by UTC date, while the archive keeps earlier grids playable without changing the current daily streak.
A square may combine two franchises or pair a team with an award, draft status, season average or career milestone.
Correct players fill the square. Wrong answers use one pick; searching and selecting an already placed player do not. No player can fill two cells.
The result records correct squares, picks used and local streaks without exposing unplayed answers in the share text.
The same player must satisfy both clues. For a team paired with an award or season average, the achievement must belong to that franchise. A career-total clue instead counts the player’s NBA/BAA regular-season career across teams, alongside an appearance for the named franchise.
Teaching example: Kevin Garnett played for Minnesota and Boston; his 2004 MVP was with Minnesota. See the NBA biography. In this game’s index he qualifies for MIN × BOS and MIN × MVP, but not BOS × MVP. Those are separate hypothetical intersections, not three places to reuse one player.
This explains eligibility, not today’s board. Source checked ; it does not refresh the historical dataset.
Yes, if they are in the searchable history and meet the published clues. Team eligibility means an official NBA/BAA appearance for the franchise lineage, not simply being drafted or signing with a team. Historical team names follow that lineage; the current roster is not the answer list.
Before the score locks, a wrong answer uses one of nine submissions and leaves the square empty. Selecting a player already correctly placed is rejected without using another pick. A previously wrong guess is not a placed-player duplicate. After nine submissions or Give up, free play can fill remaining cells without changing the recorded score.
A new shared board is selected by UTC date. Previously published NBA Grids remain available in the archive, and replaying an archived board does not change the current daily streak.
