NBA Top 10 Quiz

NBA STAT LEADERS QUIZ

Rank ten NBA players by career statistics.

NBA Top 10 Quiz is a career-stats ranking game. Each board supplies ten player names; arrange them from highest to lowest for points, assists, rebounds or another regular-season statistic, then submit your order. This tests NBA records knowledge—it is not a vote for the ten greatest players.

01 / READ

Check the stat category

Every board names one regular-season career total or per-game average and supplies ten eligible players.

02 / ORDER

Rank all ten players

Select two positions to swap them, or use the arrow controls, then submit one final order from highest to lowest.

03 / SCORE

Earn up to 1,000 points

Each correct position earns 100 points. A hint locks one correct player but reduces that position to 25 points.

Data scope: boards use the top ten eligible players in a recognition-filtered game pool, not every player in NBA history. Players with incomplete approved career fields are excluded rather than given guessed values. Career statistics come from the NBA, ABA & BAA Stats dataset, selecting NBA/BAA regular seasons. Our game dataset was built on ; that is a build date, not a promise that every record is current through that day. See About & sources or report a disputed ranking with its category, board and player.

Do I name the NBA Top 10 players or rank them?

The ten names are supplied. Your task is to rank them from highest to lowest for the displayed statistic. Select a player, then tap another position to swap them, or use the up and down controls before submitting.

Which NBA stats can I rank, and do totals and averages differ?

Six categories use career totals: points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks and games played. The seventh uses rebounds per game (RPG), displayed to one decimal place and requiring at least 500 games. All are NBA/BAA regular-season career statistics, not a single season or playoff record. Points, assists, steals and blocks per game are not available categories in this quiz.

Teaching example — invented players, not a board answer: Player A has 6,000 rebounds in 600 games: 10.0 RPG. Player B has 6,400 in 800 games: 8.0 RPG. B ranks higher for total rebounds; A ranks higher for RPG. Both clear this game’s 500-game requirement. Check the category before ordering the supplied names.

How do scoring and hints work?

Each player in the exact correct position earns 100 points; a wrong position earns zero, even if it is close. Up to three hints can place and lock a player when an incorrect position remains. The locked slot cannot be swapped or moved and earns 25 points instead of 100. A hint can also improve another slot through its swap, but only the hinted player receives the reduced value.

Score example: all ten positions correct with one hint gives 9 × 100 + 25 = 925 points, not 1,000. There is no speed bonus to this score. Submit reveals the values and locks one result for that attempt; it is not a repeated answer check.

Can I play more than one NBA Top 10 Quiz?

Yes. Daily is one shared UTC board that changes at 00:00 UTC. Practice has additional boards: use Next board after a result to continue. These cycle through the same seven category pools with different starting orders, so familiar names can recur; a new board does not mean ten new players. Practice does not change your Daily score. Progress and completed results are saved separately for each mode and board in this browser when local storage is available; clearing it or using another device does not transfer that progress.

Why might a ranking differ from current NBA records, and how are ties handled?

The answer uses the dated game projection and its eligible player pool, not a live official leaderboard. Later games played by active players are not automatically included, and incomplete records or the recognition filter can exclude historical leaders.

The quiz rejects equal displayed values inside the top ten or between tenth and eleventh place. For RPG, hypothetical values of 9.64 and 9.63 both display as 9.6; hidden decimals are not used to make you choose an arbitrary order. Categories with unresolved displayed ties are not offered. A missing or stale Daily board is shown as unavailable, not silently scored as Practice.
