HOW TO PLAY
Blind rank five NBA players.
NBA Blind Ranking is a five-player ranking game. Place each revealed player into an open slot from 1 to 5 before seeing who comes next, then live with every locked pick. There is no official correct order—the challenge is deciding how much room to save for an unseen star.
For example, placing the first reveal at #2 leaves #1, #3, #4 and #5 available. If your favorite player appears later, you cannot move the earlier pick to make room. This is a decision example, not a recommended order or a hidden statistical answer.
Player scope: the pool contains 105 reviewed names across seven overlapping categories, with a roster snapshot dated . Current NBA Players contains 34 names from that snapshot, not every player on today's rosters. Scorers, positions, defenders and franchise groups use the game's eligibility rules; they are not official league rankings. See About & sources for the data policy. A player can belong to several categories but appears only once within a round.
When does a blind ranking pick lock, and can I undo it?
Choosing an open rank locks the displayed player immediately. Then select Next player to reveal another name; after the fifth placement, See my board finishes the round. There is no undo, swapping or preview of the remaining players. On a keyboard, the number keys 1–5 choose an available rank.
Can I choose current NBA players or all-time legends?
Before the first placement, choose Current NBA Players, All-Time Legends, Scorers, Point Guards, Big Men, Defenders or Franchise Legends in the category selector. Changing the category replaces the uncommitted round with five names from that category. Once the first pick locks, the category is fixed for the rest of that round.
Does Blind Ranking save my board, and can players repeat?
The current Unlimited board is kept in this browser when local storage is available, including locked picks and the completed result. Returning can restore that board, but it is not an account backup or an archive of every ranking. Clearing site data, using another device or blocking storage can remove that continuity.
Play again starts a new round in the same category. Selection uses recent completed rounds to reduce repeats, but players and five-player combinations can return; no unlimited non-repetition guarantee is made. This public game is replayable, not a shared Daily challenge.
Are Balanced, Bold and Controversial correctness scores?
No. They are playful labels based on how your order compares with the pool's internal recognition scores, not an official best-player ranking, career-stat answer or leaderboard score. Balanced has at most two reversed player pairs, Bold has three to five, and Controversial has six or more. An equal recognition score does not count as a reversed pair.
Share result sends the category, result label and game link, not the five names or their positions. It therefore does not publish a picture or full list of your board; you can discuss your personal order separately.
