WNBA GRID
Connect two WNBA franchise histories.
Find a different player for every intersection of a three-by-three team grid. Match both the row and column franchises using played regular-season or playoff appearances from 1997 through 2026. This is historical team knowledge, rather than a current-roster quiz.
01 / READInspect both franchise clues
Clues show the covered franchise lineage where teams have relocated. The Aces / Stars clue includes Las Vegas, San Antonio and Utah; Wings / Shock includes Dallas, Tulsa and Detroit; Sun / Miracle includes Connecticut and Orlando.
02 / PLACESearch and place a player
A correct player fills the square and cannot be placed again elsewhere. Wrong answers use one of nine picks; searching and already placed players do not. For example, Candace Parker qualifies for Sparks × Sky through her played Los Angeles and Chicago seasons. This explains the rule, rather than a particular board.
03 / REPLAYKeep practicing after the score locks
Nine submissions or a confirmed Give up locks the scored result. Remaining cells can still be filled in free play. Choose New grid to start a fresh board. WNBA practice does not alter NBA Daily results, streaks or EuroLeague progress.
Which WNBA appearances count for an answer?
A player must have a recorded regular-season appearance or played time in a covered playoff game for both franchises. The seasons need not match. Being drafted, signing a contract, attending training camp or appearing only on a roster is insufficient. College and overseas clubs are outside the WNBA index.
How do relocations and the two Portland Fire teams work?
Utah, San Antonio and Las Vegas share one displayed lineage, as do Detroit, Tulsa and Dallas, and Orlando with Connecticut. The original Portland Fire from 2000–02 and the 2026 expansion are separate identities even though the statistics service reuses a team identifier. An old Fire appearance does not automatically qualify for the new team.
Is WNBA Grid a daily game?
This edition is replayable practice, with separate saved progress on the same browser when storage is available. It has no shared UTC puzzle, daily streak or global score table. After completing or locking a board, New grid starts a different practice board; free play keeps the scored result unchanged.
